The family of Brian MacDonald sadly announces his sudden passing on April 30th, 2009. At the time of his death, Shack was doing what he loved, fishing, on the first day of fishing season.
Born in Pictou on September 4, 1950, he was a son of Pat (Colter) of Pictou and the late Murray MacDonald.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Brad) Moses of Raeford, North Carolina, and two grandsons Hunter and Lucas. Brian is survived by brothers John, Pictou; Dwight (Debbie) MacDonald, Pictou; and Laurie (Ellen) MacDonald, Vancouver; sisters: Ann (John) Jendruszka, Calgary; Edith (Jack) Hiscock, New Glasgow; Lynn (Jim) Armstrong, Calgary; Helen (Ned) MacBeath, Moncton; Susan, Pictou; Janice (Gerry) Spencer, Calgary; Allyson MacDonald (Paul Logan), Pictou; Marion MacDonald (Greg MacDonald), Pictou; Maureen MacDonald (Nelson Barnhart), Whitehorse; Heather (Cam) Perry, Coaldale; as well as many, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers Dale, Albro, and sister, Nancy.
At Shack’s request, there will be no viewing or service. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place after fishing season, at a date to be announced, on Pictou Island.
No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Pictou Island Community Association
