It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Theresa Murphy announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the age of 80 years. She will be sadly missed by her four sons: Walter (Dawn) Murphy of Shallop Cove, Patrick (Lilianna) Murphy of Brampton, Ontario, Arthur (Debbie) Murphy of Edmonton, Alberta, Dale (Diane) Murphy of Stephenville, one daughter, Dianne Murphy of Stephenville, one brother, Kenneth (Clara) Wilcott of St. Alban’s, Bay d’Espoir, five sisters: Zita Hull of Noels Pond, Elizabeth Cox of St. Alban’s, Bay d’Espoir, Sister Anne Wilcott of St. John’s, Margaret (Hillard) Hynes of Noels Pond, Delores (Bernard) Simon of Stephenville, 10 grandchildren: Andrew, Liela, Michael, Anne, Kimberley, Jennifer, Vanessa, Amanda, Laura, Trevor and 5 great grandchildren: Timothy, Jared, Katie, Emma, Noah and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Murphy and son, André Murphy. Visitation took place on Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral service took place on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville with interment at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements were under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville.
