1922-2010 - Miramichi - Norman Fulton McLenaghan, husband of the late Rose A. McLenaghan, of St. Thomas Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Saturday afternoon, April 17, 2010, at the age of 88. Born in Auburnville, on January 7, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emily (Eliza Williston) McLenaghan. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi and was an alter server for many years. He was the former owner of the Bay du Vin General Store; a former fish buyer and a former Postmaster. He was a retired employee of the Dept. of National Defense, at the former 21st Radar Sqn, St. Margarets and the former CFB Chatham, employed with the Corps of Commissioners. He is survived by one daughter, Maureen Scott (William), of Miramichi; one sister, Ellen Williston, of Miramichi; two brothers, Bernard McLenaghan, of Miramichi Bay and Phineas McClenaghan, of Riverview. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rose Ann Connelly, in 1990; two sisters, Mildred McGuire and Ada Williston; five brothers, Burton, Freeman, William, Alvin and Reuben McLenaghan.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Wednesday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery. Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, at 7 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
