Neil Cory Leen Cossaboom (Cory) of White Head Island, NB was called home to the Lord on February 18, 2010. Cory was a happy and out going member of the White Head Community, his pleasant outlook on life made him a joy to be near. Always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors Cory expressed his faithfulness to God and his fellowman through his commitment to the White Head Baptist Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent, a Sunday School Teacher, served as an usher for services, and was one of the most faithful to attend the Sunday afternoon Men's Prayer Group. Playing hockey with his team mates on White Head, Cory would play goalie and enjoyed the fellowship of sports. He served his community on White Head as a Volunteer Firefighter for the White Head Volunteer Fire Department. He purchased his first lobster boat the "Adam & Sheena" when he was eighteen, and his life's career of fishing was started. He spent many hours aboard of the sardine carrier "Strathaven" with his father Neil in the 1990's working for Connors Bros. In 1998 he had the "Little Skipper" built and fished lobster and also had many enjoyable trips fishing halibut on his own until 2009 when he sold his gear. He went aboard of the "Whole Family" in the summer of 2009 and enjoyed fishing for sea urchins, lobster, and scallops and the good friendship of his Captain Harold Cossaboom where he continued to enjoy his love of fishing and spending time on the waters of the Bay of Fundy. One of the most important things in life for Cory was his special relationship with his entire family he enjoyed their company and making time for them. He is survived by his mother Mirjam, his sister Patricia (Mark) Greene of Ingalls Head, his niece Kari-Jo Ingersoll and nephew Eric Ingersoll. He was engaged to be married to his love and fiancée Sandra Scott of Woodstock, NB. He was predeceased by one of his best friends and father Neil last October.
There will be service held from the White Head Baptist Church on May 22, 2010 at 2:15 pm with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating to celebrate Cory's life; followed by an open house at Mirjam Cossaboom's residence following the service and all welcome are invited to attend.
