Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, May 9, 2010. Florence Barron, in her 84th year, dearly beloved wife of the late Thomas Barron Sr. Daughter of the late John Clarence Monk and Kathleen Grace Fraser. Dearly loved mother of Bernard of Oshawa, Thomas and his wife Ardith of Moncton, George of Toronto, Barry of Halifax and Sharron of Thunder Bay. Loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her sisters Ruth Watson, Rita Atzler, Eileen Watson, Joy Palmer and her brother Gilbert Monk. Predeceased by sister Helen and brother Carl. Florence raised her family in Pugwash, N.S. moving to Halifax in the 1970's to practice nursing. After retirement she moved to Oshawa where she was devoted to her religion, worked in her flower garden and enjoyed life with her grandchildren.
Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street, East, Oshawa (905-433-4711) With Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church (Mary & Beatrice) on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby. Prayers will be held at the funeral home of Tuesday at 2 p.m. Memorial Donations to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Palliative Care would be appreciated.
