The Peters family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of Derek John Peters, their beloved husband and father, on May 9, 2010. Derek was born May 17, 1960 in Regina, SK. Derek was a man of many passions, who accomplished much in his life; his proudest achievement was his five sons. He loved motorcycling, especially when his wife rode beside him. Derek was an intelligent man, with artistic abilities which he expressed through auto body since he was 17 years of age. Derek passed from a broken heart, predeceased by his son, Mike and his father John. He is survived by his wife Linda; sons, Jon (Kinda), Darryl, Lyndon, and Jason; his mother Anne, mother-in-law Edith Weiss; four younger siblings, and a large extended family. The Celebration of Derek's life will be held at Minto United Church, 1036 - 7th Ave. N.W., on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorials to the Mike Peters Visual Arts Memorial Scholarship, c/o Peacock Collegiate, 145 Ross St.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 0S3, would be appreciated.
