Dec.29, 1933 - May 8, 2010. The first-born son of David and Alice Elliott, Newman's Cove, Bonavista Bay, NL. Graduated from Newman's Cove United Church School in 1949. 1949-1961 taught school at St. Jones Within, Queen's Cove, Milton, Little Catalina, Catalina and Happy Valley, Goose Bay. Entered Memorial University 1962, graduated 1965 and did post-graduate studies at Pine Hill Divinity Hall, Halifax. Graduated 1968 and was ordained by the United Church of Canada NL Conference. Held pastorates at Summerford, Gambo, Carbonear, Grand Falls and Portugal Cove. From 1991 -1998 was Co-ordinating Chaplain for the United Church for St. John's hospitals and institutions. Survived by wife Edna, son David, daughter-in-law Jennifer, brothers, Rev Arthur W.(Hazel), Glovertown, Leslie (Linda), Manuels, brothers-in- law: Ralph Meade (Joan), Dartmouth, Carl Meade (Noreen) Halifax, and sister-in-law Ruth LeBlanc (Frank), Spryfield. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and those special friends Elaine, Andre, Sharon and Steve who have been like family. At Heber's request cremation has taken place.
