Thelma Fullerton
FULLERTON, THELMA G. - 101, of Parrsboro, Cumberland County passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at home. Born in New Salem, she was a daughter of the late John and Amelia (Ayer) Rector. Thelma was very active in her community, particularly as a long serving member of the Parrsboro United Church and was president and founding member of the Over 60's Club. During Parrsboro's Centennial year, she with her husband John assumed the roles of "Governor & Lady Parr" serving as official Ambassadors for the town. She is survived by daughters, Zenith Rector (Utley), Parrsboro; Mary Canning, Parrsboro; daughters-in-law, Charline Canning, Calgary; Ivy Canning, Stittsville, Ont.; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roy Canning in 1966; her second husband, John Fullerton in 2000; sons, Gordon, Glenford and Thornton; sisters, Sadie, Hazel, Mary, Ruby, Evangeline, Merna; brothers, Anthony, Freeland. Visitation 2-4, 6-8 p.m. today [Saturday, May 15, 2010] at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 3 p.m. Sunday [May 16, 2010] at the Parrsboro United Church, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating.
