Frederick Oliver Woodill, age 84 of Bedford, passed away May 19, 2010 in the VG Site, QEII.
Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Earle and Marjorie Woodill. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Fred's greatest passion in life was his family. He was happiest when spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a passion for life, enjoyed hunting, flyfishing and the outdoors. His special fishing spots were in Trout Brook and Lake Ainslie, where he lived for 36 years.
Fred loved working with wood, creating many treasures for his family. His home was always open to all. Many feasts and good times were shared.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary; sons, Fred (Pam), Wellington; Earle (Lois), Mulgrave; daughter, Debbie (Rob), Halifax; niece, Della McLellan; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Ben (Bingie) and Ron (Joan).
Predeceased by sisters, Delores Mahoney and Shannon MacDougall.
Special thanks for the loving care and compassion shown by his doctors, as well as the staff of the Inverness Hospital, Victorian Order of Nurses, Northwood Homecare and Palliative Care Unit of the VG. You all made a difference!
