Robert McNeil, 54, of New Waterford passed away very suddenly on Thursday, May 7, 2009.
Born and raised in New Waterford, he was the son of Francis and Lena (Whitty) MacNeil.
‘Dutchie’ was an avid outdoorsman enjoying golf, fishing and hunting. He also loved carpentry and boat building.
Robert is survived by his loving mother Lena (Whitty) MacNeil, special friend Janet Rizzo; brother Frank (Brenda) MacNeil, all of New Waterford and sister Colleen (Rodger) Saunders, East Cheezetcook; nephews Colin, Jeffrey and Connor, and two special little friends Jannie and Carson. He leaves behind many a great friend who shall miss his kind and gentle spirit.
Besides his father Frank, his brother Gary predeceased him.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500. A funeral mass to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Parish of St. Leonard, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, New Waterford, with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Interment to take place following the service in Mount Carmel Cemetery. There will be a luncheon held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3236 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, following the interment. All are welcome to attend.
