Bates, Daniel Newton - 49, Bible Hill passed away May 10, 2009. Born in Truro, he was a son of Helen (Reid) Bates, Truro and the late Charles “Junior” Bates. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Fox); daughters, Kaitlin and Lauren, both at home; brothers, Laurie, Larry (Cindy), both of Truro, Matthew, Hilden, Trent, Salmon River; sisters, Tammy (Peter) Smith, Truro, Christa (Dwayne) Watson, Ontario; father-in-law, Harold Fox, Valley; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Charles and Frances Reid; paternal grandparents Charles and Ruth Bates; mother-in-law, Esther Fox. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 14th at 2:00 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating.
