Theodore Siminiuk
February 2nd, 1916 – May 11th, 2009
On Monday, May 11th, 2009, at 1:00 a.m. our loving father joined all his family in heaven at the age of 93 years. Theodore was born to Pauline and Samuel Siminiuk in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1916. The family moved to the Kayville, Saskatchewan district where Theodore helped his dad farm until he joined the army. He married Velma Viergutz in 1941 and continued to farm in the Kayville and Dahinda districts. Velma and Theodore had six children. When Theodore retired from farming he moved to the Pangman Retirement Home and later to Moose Jaw. Dad loved to play cards and dance. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Paraschava (Pauline); sisters Annie Siminiuk and Dora (Farren) Mooney; his wife Velma; daughters and sons-in-law Vanelda (Bill) Burgess of Saskatoon, SK, Melba (Gordon) Sandick of Calgary, AB; his son Ardeth of Kayville, SK; and granddaughter Rayleen Burgess of Saskatoon, Sk. Theodore leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his son Dayle (Linda) Siminiuk of Moose Jaw; daughters Cheryle Siminiuk and Arlene (Ernie) Dimen both of Regina, SK.; his sisters Mary Simmons and Francis Galvin both of Delta, B.C.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews in Alberta and B.C. At our father’s request there will be no funeral service. A Memorial Service and spreading of his ashes will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Theodore may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to express thanks to Dr. Hugo of Moose Jaw, the nurses at the General Hospital (5A) in Regina and in Central Butte for the loving care they bestowed upon our dad and his family.
