KABANUK
On June 6th, 2010 Joe Kabanuk passed away to be reunited with his beloved wife, Beatrice. Joe lived 97 very good years of life. The best years were the years he spent with Beatrice raising their six children and working on the land they farmed near Viceroy, SK. Joe was a much respected farmer and a seasoned horseman. He loved his horses and enjoyed working with cattle. He had a quiet gentle spirit about him and animals sensed that. He had a love for nature and never took more than what was needed and always gave back. He could fix or build anything with his hands and he passed that gift on to his children. Joe lived in a remarkable time. He saw his mother plow a field using oxen, he saw man walk on the moon and he farmed to the day when machinery became computerized. He was living proof that it wasn't the size of the man in the fight, but the size of the fight in the man. Joe will be greeted in heaven by his wife Beatrice of 67 years (passed away April 8, 2010), his parents, and his siblings. His quick wit and gentle sense of humor will be missed by: Lloyd, Joyce, Robert (Loreen), Donald (Diane), Glen (Shirley), Joan (Dwain), and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Tillie and brother-in-law, Norman (Lena). In keeping with Joe's request, a private family service will be held. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In living memory of Joe, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
