Melvin J. 'Russ' Russell, of Belleville, entered into rest at his residence on Monday, June 7, 2010, in his 79th year.
Dear son of the late William and Susan Russell (nee Budge) and stepson of the late Elizabeth (Chipman) Russell. Russ was a retired firefighter of 41 years.
Beloved husband of Beverley 'Carol' Russell (nee Little). Cherished father of Karen Patterson (Pat) of RR#5 Trenton, Cathy Restoule (Tom) of Penetanguishene, Ont. and Joe Russell (Joanne) of Frankford. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Sean O'Hara (Paty) of Cambridge, Ian O'Hara (Candace) of Belleville, David O'Hara (Diane) of Trenton, Mary and Jennifer Restoule of Belleville and by his great-grandson, Liam O'Hara of Trenton. Dear brother of Frances Sears (Bill) of Truro, N.S. and Jim Russell (Eileen) of Ottawa.
Predeceased by sister, Caroline Gregory and by brothers, Hayward and George Russell. Also sadly missed by 10 siblings. Will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Belleville Funeral Home and Chapel, 68 North Front St., Belleville (613-968-5080) on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 1 p.m. (with visitation one hour prior to service). Interment in Belleville Cemetery.
