FRASER’S MOUNTAIN – Lloyd Bernard Rose, 65, of Fraser’s Mountain, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his family on May 13, 2009.
He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends whose lives he touched so deeply. He was a loving father to Janet (Paul) DeWolfe, Dartmouth; Jennifer (Bruce) Anderson, France; and grandfather to Anna, Devon, Mitchell and Matthew.
He was the son of Pearl (Hemwood) and the late Alexander Rose.
He is survived by his sisters: Myrna (Neil) Sutherland, Bedford; Margaret Murphy, Sackville, N.S.; Mary (Mike Coady) Rose, Fraser's Mountain; cherished nephew, Steven Rose and former wife, Marjorie; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Mark; and brother, Alexander (Sandy).
Lloyd was a former radio announcer with CKEC and owner of Rose’s Grocery, along with many other successful business pursuits. Lloyd loved reading, playing cards and music (especially George Jones).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, from 2-4 p.m. and 7- 9 pm at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, New Glasgow on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery following the Mass.
