It is with great sadness that we mourn the death of Lawrence (Bud) A. Dunham Sr. of Prince William, NB. Bud went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 16, 1925 in Havelock NB, he was the son of the late Lester and Lottie (Perry) Dunham. In addition to his wife of 63 years, Bertha (Ingraham) Dunham, he is survived by a son, Lawrence Dunham (Connie); two daughters, Bonnie Swan (Laurie) and Dawna Grimwade (Steve); a daughter-in-law, Sandra Dunham; nine grandchildren, Laurie Dunham (Amy), Jill Mabie (Mark), Sarah Dunham, Kelsey Dunham, Joey Dunham (Melissa), Dustin Swan (Amanda), Krystal Mercer (Greg), Sasha Dunham (Joey) and Paige Grimwade; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Polly Ward; a brother-in-law, Myles Ingraham (Doris), Dumfries; three sisters-in-law, Inez Ingraham, Berniece Hagerman and Jean Ingraham; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bud was predeceased by an infant daughter, Deborah Judith; a son, Glen Lowell; two sisters, Rita Wilson and her husband George and Laura Mulligan and her husband Angus; a half-sister, Kathy Dunham; a granddaughter, Natasha Dunham; four brothers-in-law, Fred Ward, Wilford Ingraham, William Hagerman and Raymond Ingraham. Bud served in the Second World War - North Shore Regiment and after the war he successfully lumbered in NS and NB. He trucked on projects in the early years at CFB Gagetown and had a short career in long-haul trucking. Bud returned to the construction business and eventually began Dunham's Contracting Limited and Rockland Construction in 1971 where he actively worked with his family up until January 2008. Bud was a member of the Riverside United Church in Prince William and the 50 Plus Club. Special thank you to caregiver Lynn MacDonald and several Harvey Outreach caregivers as well as the doctors and nurses at York Manor and Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. A special thank you to granddaughter, Krystal (Swan) Mercer BN RN who stayed with him to the end.
Visiting hours will be held at St. Clement's Anglican Church, 6831 Route 102, Dumfries on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the church with Rev. Terry Messer and Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. Interment in Prince William Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Bud, the family has suggested the Prince William Cemetery, Prince William 50 Plus Club or a charity of the donor's choice.
