1930 - 2010 - St-Edouard-de-Kent - Normand Maillet, 79, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 16th after a sudden illness. Born in Ste-Anne-de-Kent on October 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Clétus and Elise (Allain) Maillet. Normand was a fisherman by trade and was a good worker. His hobbies were gardening and working around the house; also he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very spiritual man and he will be missed greatly. Normand will sadly be missed by his wife, Marie Mai (Richard); four daughters,
Lise Cormier (Normand) of Moncton, Janice Vautour (Michel), Monique Maillet (Jacques) and Jacqueline Maillet Gould (Paul-Emile) all of Dieppe; two sisters, Jeanne Allain (late Patrick) and Imelda Maillet (late Cloris) both of Moncton; six grandchildren, Bianca, Natasha, Carlo, Marco, Brigitte and Gary. He was predeceased by one son, Gary; five brothers, Ovila, Antoine, Eric, Arthur, Hector and three sisters, Thérèse, Suzanne and Marie-Anne.
Visitations will be held in the Ste-Anne-de-Kent RC Church Slumber room on Sunday, June 20th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Ste-Anne-de-Kent RC Church on Monday, June 21st at 11 am. No visitations on Monday morning. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
