Panagiota "Pota" Kouyas, age 87 years, Main Street, Westville, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Greece, she was a daughter of the late Demetre and Fiori Vasiliou.
She came to Canada in 1973. She and her family opened and operated the Highland Regent Restaurant, and later the Acropole Restaurant.
She is survived by sons, Andre ( wife Rhonda), Westville; Spiro, Westville; five grandchildren: Steve, Jandalee, Drea, Stravros, and Alcina; four great grandchildren: Madeline, Liam, Amelia, and Gabriel.
She was predeceased by her husband Stravros "Steve"; sister, Maria; and three brothers, George, Chris, and John.
Visitations will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 o’clock from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Father Theothoros officiating. Burial will be in the Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow.
