The death occurred suddenly on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at his late residence in Maple Plains of Stanley Yaskiw, age 70 years.
Born in Birtle, Manitoba, he was the son of the late Peter and Annie (Komaransky) Yaskiw.
Stan is survived by the love of his life of 33 years, Annie (MacDonald) Yaskiw. Stan was a wonderful father, brother, son, uncle and friend who was loved deeply and will be missed by many. He was the proud father of four daughters and one son, Bernadette MacDonald (Robin Paynter), Maple Plains Road; Mary MacDonald (Hugh Allan MacLellan), Hampton; Theresa MacVicar (Allan), Ontario; Anna Marie MacDonald (Buddy Massiah), Cape Breton; and Donnie MacDonald (Mary) Cape Breton. Very proud grandfather of Kimberley, Natasha, Kristopher, Alyssa, Danielle, Nichole, Logan and Joshua; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Marie, Rianna and Bella Maria; and many wonderful nieces and nephews, friends and collegues.
Stan leaves behind some very special friends, Glynn and Connie, Freetown; Robin Paynter, son-in-law, Freetown; and Stewart Warren, Alberta; his loyal dog, Sonny, and cat, Miss Annie.
Also survived by two loving sisters, Jean Ostash, Winnipeg; Tena Bahry, Manitoba; and one brother, Matt (Helen) Yaskiw, Winnipeg.
Stan was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers.
Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Visiting hours Friday, June 25, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday, June 26, at St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora, with funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
