Surrounded by her family, Alice M. Harris of Harvey Station, NB passed away June 24, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Holding her hand was her husband of 63 years, Arthur D. Harris. Alice was born in Fredericton, NB on August 9, 1928, a daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Lanesbury) Toner. Alice was a homemaker who was a friend to everyone. She was a life member of the Harvey Lioness (1983). She was always selling tickets. "They buy from me to shut me up" she would always say. Alice loved to play cards, bingo and listen to fiddle music, but her greatest love was her family and friends. She leaves behind her husband Arthur; her children, Burton Toner (Margaret), Harvey, NB, Margaret Nason (Francis), Tracy, NB, Alex Harris (Dorothy), Billy Harris (Debbie), Sylvia Morehouse (Stephen) and Dwane Harris, all of Harvey, NB; her twelve grandchildren and 16 3/4 great grandchildren; her brother, Gordon Toner (Letty), Harvey, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by a sister, Norma.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Harvey Station, NB on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment will take place in Acton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Harris, Doug Harris, Kenny Harris, Andrew Wood, Brad McCullough and Tim Mott. Because of allergies in the family, flowers are gratefully declined and donations are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
