1952 - 2010 - PETITCODIAC - M. Joyce Saunders, nee Powell, went home to be with her Lord after a twelve year illness. Born in Anagance, N.B. July 13, 1952, Joyce was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, where she was actively involved as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Group worker, Moderator, and served on various Boards and Committees. She was also a Life Member of the Gullison WMS. Joyce was employed at the Petitcodiac Drug Mart prior to her early retirement in 2001. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Stuart A. Saunders; her daughters: Shane Sleep (Darren Pallen) of Petitcodiac, and Carly Saunders (Drew Miller) of Ottawa; her grandchildren: Jeremy and Chelsea Sleep; her sister, Linda (Fernand) Dubois of Winnipeg; and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her parents Marjorie (Smith) Powell (2008) and Gerard "Gerry" Powell (1980).
