James (Jim) Brentnell, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away July 4, 2010 at the age of 95. Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Elizabeth and son Robert. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Alberta (Bertie); son Dennis (Anne), daughter-in-law Linda; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brothers Roy (Neta), Harvey (Erma) and Ralph; sisters Jean Palmer and Edith Benson, nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was born in 1914 in the Wesley district north of Boharm. The Brentnell family moved to a farm south of Belle Plaine in 1929. Jim and Bertie (Allcock) were married in 1939. They lived in Belle Plaine where they raised their family, Dennis and Bob. In 1977, they moved to Moose Jaw. Jim farmed for many, many years. He enjoyed the different seasons of farming, working with his family and harvest suppers in the field. He climbed into a tractor until his knees no longer allowed it. Jim was a gentle man and a gentleman. He gave of himself as a volunteer, especially the many hours with the St. Andrew's United Church AOTS. We will miss this selfless, gentle man. Thank you to Extendicare for the many years of wonderful care provided to Jim. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 1:30pm at Rosedale Cemetery. Della Ferguson will officiate. For those wishing to attend, please join the procession leaving from W. J. Jones and Son Funeral Home at 1:15pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Avenue. N., Saskatoon, SK S7H 2H8. In living memory of Jim, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J.
