Elizabeth “Betty” Verne MacPhee, of Rutherford St., Stellarton, passed away suddenly on May 19, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Priscilla (Ferguson) MacEachern.
Betty was a resident of Stellarton most of her life. She was a longtime employee of Canadian Tire in New Glasgow from where she retired. Betty adored animals and had a special soft spot for her cats.
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie MacCallum (Jim Langille) Truro; son, David (Kathy) MacPhee, Stellarton; grandchildren: Vicki Gerrior, Bedford; Melissa (John) MacDonald, Pictou Landing; Melanie MacCallum, South Korea; Kristie MacCallum, Cayman Islands; great-grandchildren Erin and Adam Gerrior; Nicholas and Gracie MacDonald; brother, Gordon MacEachern, New Glasgow.
She was predeceased by her husband, Seward.
At her request cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Thursday and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home Stellarton. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Friday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
