The passing of Arthur Murray Smith of Hartland, NB, husband of the late Verna W. (Pond) occurred on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Central Carleton Nursing Home. Born on December 24, 1906 in Parker's Ridge, NB he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Barnett) Smith. Murray was employed with Diamond Construction until his retirement in 1971. He was a former member of the Boiestown Senior Citizens Group. Murray is survived by his daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith of Greg Settlement, NB; four grandchildren, Tamara Miksic (Kris), Rennetta Smith, Charles Smith and Bonita Kearsey (Chris); two step grandchildren, Amanda Scott (Chris) and Ann Marie Wilcox (Corey); 14 great grandchildren; great great granddaughter, Oakher Christensen; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Murray was predeceased by his son, Ralph Smith; sister, Grace Merrill; three brothers, Donald, Oswald and Lloyd.
A Funeral Service will be held from Boiestown United Church on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Beverly Daley officiating. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Boiestown Woodsmen Museum or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
