1931-2010 - Mrs. Verneva Coughlan, of Gray Rapids, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 78. Born in White Rapids, she was the daughter of the late Bevin and Elva (MacDonald) Sturgeon. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Pentecostal Church, in Gray Rapids. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters Debbie (Mike) of Fredericton, Winnie (Hayward) of Doaktown, and Audrey (Vance) of Blackville; two sons Farion (Jean), and Hiram both of Gray Rapids; four sisters Lorraine (Merlin) of White Rapids, Irma of Fredericton, Ginny (Mike) of Fredericton, and Gloria (Cameron) of White Rapids; five brothers Claytus (Yvonne) of Miramichi, Albert (Eleanor) of Quarryville, Percy (Wilma) of Renous, Gordon (Tammy) of White Rapids, and Reginald of White Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Burpee Coughlan, one son Willis, and one sister-in-law Cecillia.
The family will receive relatives and friends from the United Pentecostal Church, in Gray Rapids, on Monday, July 12, 2010, from 7 to 9pm, and on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, from 2 to 4pm, and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 2 pm, from United Pentecostal Church, in Gray Rapids, with Reverend Graham Russell officiating and Reverend Hayward Stewart assisting. As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Miramichi Hospital Palliative Care, or to a memorial of one's choice.
