It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bernadette Penney announce her passing on Monday, July 19, 2010 at her family residence in Port au Choix, NL. She leaves to mourn her husband Justin; daughter Lillian (Keith); granddaughter Summer; mother Hazel; sister Christine (Willard); brothers Ambrose (Bev), and Merlin (Brenda); nephews Darren and Gordon; nieces Bettina, Tammy, Tabbitha and Taylor; great-niece Shayla; great-nephews Austin and Tyrese, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, July 23 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
