The death of Leah Fraser occurred at Primrose Cottage, Lower Millstream, on July 25th, 2010.
She was the daughter of J. Robert and Jemima (Dykeman) Watson.
She lived in Chipman, NB until 2002, when she moved to Sussex to live with her daughter. A feisty and fun loving lady with a zest for life, Leah enjoyed dancing, travelling and playing bridge. After moving to Sussex she looked forward to her weekly crib games with her grandson, Pat. Throughout her life she was actively involved in the Chipman United Church where she belonged to several church groups and was a choir member.
She is survived by her daughter, Bette Pearson, of Sussex; her son, Ronald (Marlyn) MacFarlane, of Kitchener, ON; stepdaughter, Mary Ann (Donald) Parlee; stepson, Martin (Crystal) Fraser; and her stepdaughter-in-law, Wendy Fraser, all of Chipman. 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, Pat Hasson and Linda (Danielle and Ryan), of Sussex, Peter Kilcollins and Diane (Peter and Justin), of Winnipeg, Leah Hayward and Tony (Lucas, Megan, Jillian and Kristian), of Rothesay, Tanya MacFarlane, Brett MacFarlane and Bonnie (Emma, Julia and Sara), Kyle MacFarlane, Brett Barrett and Rob (Matthew and Izzy), all of Ontario, Theresa Parsons (Sara, Andrew and Stacy), Joey Parlee and Tracy (Evan and Jessica), Andrea Parlee (Nicholas), all of Chipman, Joelle Fraser McGaghey and Adam (Jack), of Fort McMurray, Lindsey Fraser, of Chipman, and Lacey Fraser (Jacob), of Moncton, one great-great-grandson, Damien.
Leah was predeceased by her second husband, Andrew Fraser; her sister, Annie Brown; and brother, Warren Watson.
The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service with Rev. Merril Slipp will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday July 28th, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place, following cremation. www.sussexfh.com
