It is with sadness that the families of the late Mary Sparkes announce her passing at the A. M. Guy Memorial Hospital, Buchan's, NL, aged 91 years. She is predeceased by: her husband, William; parents, Harry and Annie Simms; sisters; Margaret, Barbara, Clara and Dorothy; brothers, John, Roy, and Bill. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: daughter, Sandra (Jim) Peters; grandchildren, Anita Cardinal, Joanne Peters, Kelly Peters, Stephen Sparkes, Roberta Whalen, Sarah Sparkes; Tyler Peters, Garrett Peters, Elysia Peters, 2 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Albert Simms, and Cyril Simms.; sister, Cecilia Downey. The funeral service took place Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 2 pm from The United Church, Buchans, NL with Rev. Raymond Cole officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Buchan's, NL. Visitation took place Friday, July 23, 2010 from the United Church Buchan's NL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
