Murdock Alvin Buchanan passed away peacefully and quietly on May 25, 2009, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Fredericton on June 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Peter and Maria (Gamester) Buchanan. Survived by his children, Ronnie (Darlene) Buchanan, Moncton N.B., Susan (Bruce) Simpson, Bayview and Morgan (Sandra) Buchanan of Breadalbane. Loving grandfather of Becky, Mandy and Ben Buchanan of Moncton, Sarah and Ryan Simpson of Bayview, Mariah and Jack Buchanan of Breadalbane. Remembered by Dorothy and her daughters Sandra and Jean and their families. Also remembered by Velda and her sons Allan and Wayne and daughter Wendy and their families. He is also survived by his sisters Mary (Roy) Smith, South Granville, Mae (late Herb)Ward of North Granville, and brothers Eric (Elizabeth) Buchanan, South Granville and Stirling (Eileen) Buchanan of Port Hood Cape Breton. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Sandy, his children’s mother, Elise, sisters, Georgie (Gerald) Smith, Margaret Buchanan, and brother, Stanley (June) Buchanan. Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Centre.
