Douglas George Sims passed into the arms of the Lord on August 2, 2010 in Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, BC.
A celebration of life service will be held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Thursday afternoon, August 5th, at 1 p.m. with Jack Bowers the funeral celebrant. Tributes will be shared by members of the family, with a reception following in the Mountainside room at Bowers.

Born in Swan River, Manitoba on October 31, 1929 he retired from a long career in the Forest Industry.

He was predeceased by his parents and one grandson.
Doug leaves to grieve his loss, his wife of Sixty years Pat (nee Minty), five children and their spouses; Tom (Glenna), Mickey (Heather), Ed (Judy), Brian (Janet), Sandra Lewis (David); as well his dearly beloved grandchildren, Rob, Chris, Parice, Bonnie, Brandy, Bobbie, Hayley, Logan, Mandy, Sarah, Arden, Leslie, Mathew, Chrissy, Andrew and Emma; plus the added pleasure of great grandchildren - rays of sunlight.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 1141, Salmon Arm, BC, VIE 4P3.
