Doris B. Paugh, 83 years of age, of Amherst, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Athol, NS, she was a daughter of the late Martin & Catherine (Dowe) Gilroy.
She loved puzzles and being with her family. She was an adherent of the Wesleyan Church.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Barb Baxter (Vaughan) of Northport, NS, Martha Wilson (Lawrence) of Fort McMurray, AB, Joyce Hicks of Amherst; sons, David (Helena) of Amherst, Eldon (Laura) of Amherst, Medley (Renovia) of Amherst; several brothers and sisters; seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; infant daughters, Judy Mae & Carol-Ann; brother Raymond, sisters Annie & Jean.
Doris's remains have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home (70 Church St. Amherst, NS) where visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Furlong-Jones Chapel on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Burial to take place in the Amherst Cemetery.
