CALLAHAN
Marie Callahan passed away peacefully May 14, 2010 in Edmonton AB, at the age of 93 years. She was born in Moose Jaw, SK. September 13, 1916. Marie grew up in SK. where she met and married her husband Gordon. Both were veterans of WW2; Gordon served overseas and Marie was stationed in Eastern Canada. After the war, they worked alongside each other, first in northern SK., then at the SK. Training School (Valleyview Centre) in Moose Jaw. After raising their family, they retired and ran a successful greenhouse business from their home. When Gordon passed away in 1991, Marie moved to Edmonton AB. She is remembered as having a smile and kind word for everyone she met. We will remember her as a lady who loved adventure, loved to laugh, and valued family above all else. Marie is pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years Gordon; her father and mother Patrick and Evelina McFadden; and three sisters Lillian, Marjorie, and Jane. She is survived by her three children, Ted (Wyndy), Vicki (Vernon), and Donna (Marno); three grandchildren, Andrew, Lindsey, and Danny; and one great-grandson, Dreyas. She will be greatly missed, and held in our hearts forever. A Memorial Service was held for Marie earlier in Edmonton. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Rosedale Cemetery, adjacent to Gordon's grave. For those wishing to attend, please meet at the Cemetery gates (Caribou Street) at 1:45 pm. In living memory of Marie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
