Passed peacefully away on Sunday, August 22, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre after a courageous three year battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, David Gerald Weir of Goulds, age 43 years. Predeceased by his father Gordon, grandparents William and Gladys Weir and Albert and Elizabeth Boyles. Leaving to mourn their sad loss are his mother Florence; sisters: Marilyn and Janice (Kevin Heffernan); brother Albert (Karen); niece Lindsay Heffernan (Damien Tilley); nephews: Colin Heffernan and Craig Weir. David also leaves to mourn his aunts and uncles: Arthur and Audrey Boyles, Mount Pearl, Errol and Janie Weir, Bay Bulls, Paula and Victor Williams, Bay Bulls, Dorothy and Weston Williams, Goulds; a large circle of cousins and friends especially Ron Ershler and Cyril Hearn; also his feline friend "Lucky". At David's request cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mt. Pearl on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 24th and 25th from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Thursday, August 26th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Funeral to take place from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Goulds, on Thursday, August 26th at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Presentation Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in David's memory may be made to the Health Care Foundation with its use to be designated to the Ambulatory Care Treatment Unit or Unit 4 North A of Health Sciences Centre.
