1929-2010 - Miramichi - James Melvin Jardine, husband of Janet (Jennie) Jardine, of the South Napan Road, Napan, passed away on arrival at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday morning, September 3, 2010, at the age of 81.
Born in Chatham, on May 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Osborne and Ethel (MacDonald) Jardine. He was a retired employee of the N.B. Dept. of Transportation, working as a heavy equipment operator, and was an adherent of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Janet (Jennie) Dick; five daughters, Dorothy Jardine (Leonard), Bertha Jardine, Shirley Jardine, all of Halifax, N.S., Sharon Jardine (Bruce), Tammy Anthony (Stephen), all of Ottawa, Ont.; three sons, James Jardine (Rita), of Greenwood, N.S., Joseph Jardine (Tanya), Robert Jardine, all of Napan; three sisters, Helen, Ruby and Louise, all of Vancouver, B.C.; two grandchildren, Amanda and Kevin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Bertha and Myrtle; three brothers, Jack, Robert and Frank.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Monday only, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Andrews United Church, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
