ROBERT ROGERSON

Date de décès : 2 septembre 2010

Robert 'Bruce' Rogerson
November 4, 1927 - September 2, 2010
With profound sadness the family announces that Robert " Bruce" Rogerson passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital after a month-long illness. He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 60 years Millie (Langton), and his six children: Shelley (Ritch) Park of Royston, BC; Scott (Patty) Rogerson of Barrhead, AB; Beverly Coburn of Cabri, SK; Kaaras Tayler of Sooke, BC; Jane (Jay) Peers of Edmonton, AB; and Bobbi (Brent) Shynkaruk of Saskatoon, SK. Also left to cherish the legacy of Bruce's remarkable integrity, compassion, wisdom, sense of humour and work ethic are 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother Terry (Chris) Rogerson of Kennewick, WA and sister Maureen (VanWoert) of Regina, SK. Bruce was predeceased by his parents James and Louise (McIsaac) Rogerson, and his brother Leonard. Bruce was born in Moose Jaw, SK and spent the summers of his youth helping Grandpa McIsaac on his farm north of Major, SK. Bruce and Millie met in 1948, married in 1949 and moved to the Major area in 1950 to start both a life of farming and a family. Bruce was a kind and charitable man who was always there to lend a hand whether it was to a neighbor, fellow farmer, or a community cause. He was also actively involved in the Catholic parish, helping to build the new church and being on call to fix the furnace and other mechanical problems. Bruce loved farming but retired in 1993 and moved to Saskatoon. Not quite ready to be idle, he worked in real estate for five years specializing in farms and acreages. Living in the city allowed him to canvas for his various charitable interests and he was a strong contributor to many organizations, including the Cancer, Heart and Lung, and Kidney societies. The family wishes to thank the staff at RUH Surgery 5000 Unit for all their help and support over the last month of Bruce's life. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Royal University Hospital Foundation, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8. Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 and the Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 both at Park Funeral Chapel (311 3rd Ave. N. Saskatoon, SK). To send online condolences to the family, visit www.parkfuneral.ca. Arrangements are entrusted to James Werezak, PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 306-244-2103.
