Helen Elizabeth Cabel passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2010 surrounded by family at Orchard View Nursing Home in Gagetown N.B. Born in Chatham, N.B. in 1916, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Springer) Savage. She was predeceased in 2004 by her husband John D. Cabel. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by her siblings: Emma Skidd, Corine Pitman, Florence Holtom, Norman Savage, Mary Savage, Raymond Savage and Anita Geldart. She is survived by her three children Beth of Fredericton, Sheila (Michael Rogers) of Quispamsis and Bill (Lynn) of Fredericton. Also survived by her special nephew, Billy Skidd and his wife Patsy of Chatham, N.B. She will be greatly missed by her four adoring grandchildren Adam (Nicola) Rogers, Christina Rogers, Emma Cabel and Agnes Cabel. Alexander and Lauren Rogers will also miss Their Great Nana.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated for family and friends in the Chapel at Saint Michael's Basilica in Chatham N.B. on September 11th, 2010 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Saint Michael's Cemetery. The Cabel family would like to acknowledge the entire staff of Orchard View for the fabulous care our mother received and the support provided during the past three years. It has been greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
