It is with great sadness that the family of Michael 'Mike' Thomas MacDougall announce his sudden passing on Sept. 8, 2010.
Born May 15, 1950, in Ingonish Beach, he was a son of the late Timothy and Elizabeth (Donovan) MacDougall.
Mike lobster fished for many years and later was employed with Parks Canada, Highlands Links Golf Course.
Mike also loved music, fishing, cutting wood and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by daughters, Wanda MacDougall, Sydney, Nancy (Conrad) MacDonald, Ingonish, Laura (Tony) VanAmerongen, Kentville; brothers and sisters, Ann (Vince) Burke, Joan Pottie, Louise (Peter) Gracie, all of L'Ardoise, Natalie (David) Dupont, Ontario, Martin (Bernice) MacDougall, Alberta, John (Rose) MacDougall, Sydney, Crystal MacDougall, North Sydney, Dale (Nancy) MacDougall, Donald (Linda) MacDougall, Mark (Heather) MacDougall, Nick (Nina) MacDougall, Laura Dupont, Judy Whitty, all of Ingonish; grandchildren, Samantha, Jordan, Kevin, Miranda, Brianna, Zander and Hailey; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by daughter, Ann Marie MacDougall, granddaughter, Emiley Mickey, sister, Lorraine MacDougall.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, in Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Ingonish. Funeral service 11 a.m., Monday in St. Peters Church, Ingonish, Rev Dan MacDonald will officiate.
