Murdoch James 'M.J.' MacLennan, 96, of North River, died Sept. 12, 2010, at Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
Born Sept. 12, 1914, he was the son of the late Alexander N. and Jesse B. (MacKenzie) MacLennan of North River.
He was a member of St. Ann's Bay United Church. Worked for Fisher Scientific of Toronto for 35 years. Served in the air force from 1942 to 1946. Served in Canada, Goose Bay, England and Central Europe.
He is survived by sister, Florence (Eugene) Endermuhle; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Mamie Kathleen (Paley) of Elmsdale, N.S., and sister, Alene Lovegrove.
The body is resting at St. Ann's Bay United Church with visitation Wednesday, Sept. 15 from 12-2 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. in the church with Diane Kempt officiating. Burial will be in Goose Cove Cemetery.
Donations may be made to St. Anne's Bay United Church or a charity of one's choice.
