1930 - 2010 - Miramichi - Sybil Christine (MacNaughton) Parker, widow of the late James MacNaughton and George Parker, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Upper Black River, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Saturday, September 24, 2010, at the age of 80. Born in Chatham, on August 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Jean (Cameron) Watling. She was a homemaker; a former supply teacher and a member of St. Stephen's United Church Black River Bridge; a former member of the Golden Circle Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by three daughters, Karen Morrison (Allan), Catherine Mills and Sheila MacNaughton (Paul), all of Miramichi; four sons, Wesley MacNaughton (Gail), of Quarryville, Floyd MacNaughton (Doreen), Clarke MacNaughton (Cynthia), all of Upper Black River, Keith MacNaughton, of Grand Prairie AB; two sisters, Esther MacKay, of Fredericton, Glenna Gilliss, of Napan; fourteen grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, James MacNaughton; her second husband, George Parker; one infant daughter; four sisters, Muriel Flett, Roberta Whyte, Verne Dickson, Thelma Dickson; five brothers, Lloyd, Byron, Vance, Blair, Archibald Watling.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Monday only, from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge, on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi chapter of the Alzheimer Society, the Black River Cemetery Fund, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
