Gerald B. Pye, 73, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Digby, NS, he was a son of the late Borden & Kathleen (Cahill) Pye.
Gerald was formerly employed with Irving Oil as a burner worker and later owned and operated Pye's Barbershop for many years.
Gerald will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Marilyn Smith, Amherst; daughters, Tanya Goudie (Duane), Vancouver, BC, Szarina Gauthier (Justin), Charlottetown, PEI; sons, Darren (Andrea) of Ottawa, ON, Jaye (Chrissy), Calgary, AB; step-daughters; Debbie Allen (Vernon), Amherst, NS, Shelley Fahey (Paul), Port Howe; step son Michael Chapman (Connie), Amherst; sisters Marilyn Corney of Amherst, NS, Diane Bacon of Upper Nappan; many grand and great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A graveside committal service will be held at the Amherst Cemetery on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 2 pm, Pastor Don Miller officiating. All are welcome to join the family for this time of remembrance.
