PIDBOROCHYNSKI - Amelia (nee Mazey), late of Prince Albert, SK. It is with great sadness that we announce that after a lenghtly battle with Lupus our dear mother and grandmother, Amelia Pidborochynski passed away peacefully with her daughters Victoria and Julianne at her bedside in Mont. St. Joseph's Home on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Mom was one of the strongest and most positive people we knew and faced this final journey with great courage and strength. She always had a refreshing positive and conquering attitude and a smile on her face that has brought her through many difficulties and challenges and endeared her to all who met and knew her. Amelia was a mentor and good listener and a caring, loving Baba not only to her immediate family but to many others. She was Mrs. Hospitality and always welcomed everyone into her home. Amelia always helped and listened to others before herself. She made friends where ever she went and had numerous lasting friendships. Amelia will always be remembered for her perogies, cabbage rolls, donuts and prune buns. In 1949 she married Nick Pidborochynski and settled into a life of mixed farming in Meath Park - later they took on the job of janitors at Meath Park High School and Meath Park Elementary from 1970-1975. Together they raised seven children. After dad passed away and her health started failing her, mom moved to Prince Albert. Amelia is survived and will be sadly missed by her loving children, Victoria Pidborochynski of New Westminster, BC; Pauline Pfisterer (Stan) of Sherwood Park, AB; Sonja Burachenski (Bob) of Delta, BC; David Pidborochynski (Josie) of Ardrosson, AB; Henry Pidborochynski (Tara) of Edmonton, AB and Julianne (Blaine) of Prince Albert, SK; her beloved grandchildren where she found something special in each one, Jody & Jason Burachenski, Nicole (Rob) Pfisterer Murray, Cynthia Pfisterer, Athena and Tara Pidborochynski, Nickolas Mappin; her adopted granddaughter Maddie; her great grandchildren Brayden, Tysen and Kianna Pfisterer, Elayna Pidborochynski and Gabrielle Murray; her brother Walter Mazey of Edmonton, AB; her sister-in-law Bernice Pidborochynski of Nipawin, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Amelia was predeceased by her parents: John & Anna Mazey; her husband: Nick Pidborochynski; her brother: Peter Mazey; her sister: Pauline Sharyk; as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. The family wishes to thank Dr. DePadua, the staff at the Victoria Union Hospital and the staff of Heritage Lane, Mont. St. Joseph's Home for their compassionate care in her final days.
