Stella Dora Avery
At 95 years with peace in her heart our precious Mom and Nanny, Stella Dora Avery passed into the presence of her Lord at the Grand Manan Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry, of 62 years. To follow in her footsteps are daughters Betty Russell (Dale) of Castalia, Judy Guptill (Clinton), of Quispamsis, and one son Philip Parker (Dorothy) of North Head along with many precious grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was the youngest child of Oswald and Flora Parker and the last remaining of eleven siblings. Also remaining are two sisters-in-law, Jenny Wilson of Grand Harbour, and Madeline Avery and a dear brother-in-law Walter of North Head. She was a faithful member of the North Head Wesleyan Church, having taught Sunday School for many years, and also being a member of the Ladies Missionary Society (Ruth Class). A faithful prayer warrior, she was! Always a hard worker, for many years she enjoyed cleaning summer cottages with her dear friend, Madeline, also she was employed at the Connors Bros. factory for several seasons. What we will remember most about Mom will be her faithful Christian virtues. It is what she "didn't" say or do that taught us how to live. We will miss her prayers and her presence here but we are confident we will meet again John 11:26. Her family gives praise to God for the woman she was and for where she is now.
Visiting will be on Sunday at the North Head Wesleyan Church from 6 until 8 pm. Two of her grandsons, Pastors Rob and Tim Guptill will be conducting the service from the Church on Monday October 4, 2010 at 1:00 pm. The interment will follow at the North Head Community Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements are in care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1199 Route #776, Grand Manan, N.B.
