TURNER, John Francis, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Priory in Langford, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Born August 28, 1919, he was a son of the late Edward and Laura Turner of West Green Harbour, N.S. He is survived by his loving wife, Nora (nee Hearle); daughters, Heather, June and Carol; eight grandchildren, 12 great grand-children; sister, Bernice; many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his loving son, Gene; brothers, Edward, Mervin, Robert, Lewis; sister, Georgina. John was an avid outdoorsman and served in WWII with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Italy. There was a gathering of family and friends to celebrate John's life at his daughter Heather's home in Sooke, B.C., with Rev. Don Johnson officiating.
