It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 with loved ones by her side.
She was born Jan. 16, 1920 to the late James and Alice (DeYoung) MacPherson.
Mom was a kind and caring woman who dedicated her life to raising her family.
Mom will be sadly missed by her three children, Wesley (Deanie), Ontario, Wayne (Linda), Alberta and Heather (Bill) MacNeil, Ontario. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren, whom she loved very dearly, Christopher and Tyler Rose, Wesley Jared, Alexandria and Jeremy Rose, Melissa and Kristen MacNeil. Mom is also survived by sister-in-law, Mrs. Lucy Gorman, New Waterford; as well as many nephews and nieces. Mom was the last surviving member of her family.
Mom was preceded by her husband, Wesley, in 2004; brothers, Alex, Angus and Jimmy; sister and best friend, Esther and grandson, Wesley Maxwell Rose in infancy.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford (862-7500). Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Calvin United Church with the Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Friends are cordially invited to join the family for a reception following the service at Calvin Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in mom's memory to Calvin United Church or The Alzheimer Society.
