TURNER, Sylvia Edith "Dee", 84, West Green Harbour, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Roseway Hospital with her family by her side. Dee was born in West Green Harbour on November 20, 1925, the youngest daughter of the late Isaac and Cordelia (Stuart) Scott. Dee was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses in April 1974. She had a firm and unwavering belief in the Bible promise that all the dead in God's memory will receive a resurrection back to a restored earth of God's making. Job 14:14-15: asks "if any able bodied man died, can he live again... you will call and I myself shall answer you. For the work of your hands you will have a yearning. "We, your family, also have a yearning for that wonderful time." She was a loving wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother and a very generous person. She enjoyed doing cryptoquotes, crossword puzzles and playing cards. She was a wonderful baker and everyone was always welcome to come and enjoy her hospitality and home cooking. She really enjoyed the visits from her family. She is survived by daughters, Roberta (Bill) MacIntosh, Lockeport; Sandra Durling, Victoria, B.C; Mayola Turner, Bridgewater; Bonnie (Don) Hendsbee, Timberlea; Paulette (John) Pineo, Hebbville; grandchildren, Garth, Cherra, Stephen, Scott and Rachael Dee; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Robert "Bob"; brothers, Maynard and Ivan and sister Elsie. The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Lockeport, with Brother Bev Nickerson officiating. Interment was in Lockeport Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Barrington Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, or charity of choice.
