Lloyd (Bill) Russell

Surrounded by his family, Mr. Lloyd (Bill) E. Russell leaving his wife of 62 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 12, 2010 at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Saint John, NB. He was born in Grand Harbour Grand Manan Island on May 12, 1927 the son of the late Leroy and Iva (Dakin) Russell. Bill was in the U.S. Army 64th Infantry Regiment, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #44, Grand Manan, the former Grand Manan Board of Trade and one of the first members of the Grand Manan Volunteer Fire Department. His career at NB Power lasted forty years. He is survived by his wife Olive (Tatton) Russell, two daughters Eleanor (Mickey) Eddington (James), of Fredericton, Wendy Cyr (Dan), of Saint John. Four sons Gregg (Terry), of Grand Manan and Fredericton, Dana (Patricia), of Rothesay, Wayne (Cassandra) of Woodstock and Todd (Valerie) of Riverview. One sister Florence Russell of Calais ME, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bill is predeceased by one son Rodney and one brother Jack Russell.
Visiting will take place at Ells Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday October 23, 2010 at 2:30pm from the Kingston Baptist Church, Kingston Peninsula with Rev. Brian Steeves officiating; a reception will follow where all are welcome to attend. A private interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery. Bill's family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations may be made to the Kingston Baptist Church, or the Charlotte County Cancer Society.
