With deepest sadness, the family of Mamie Gale announce her death after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She passed comfortably surrounded by her family and friends at the Charles LeGrow Hospital in Port aux Basques, NL on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 at the age of 71 years. She was predeceased by her husband Francis; daughter Diana; mother Mary Francis; father Paul Joseph O'Quinn; brothers: Steve, Pat, Mike, Paul, Alec, and sister Ann. She is survived by daughter Corinne (Carl) Samms; son Francis Glenn (Laurie) Gale; son-in-law Bernard Downey; grandchildren: Carla, Ryan, Marissa and Trevor; sisters: Marg, Aggie; brother Leo, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. At her request, cremation has taken place. Friends may visit St. Anne's Church in Upper Ferry on Sunday and Monday, from where the Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, October 26th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery.
