It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Gerard MacKinnon, 47, of Gardiner Mines at the Glace Bay Hospital on Oct. 23, 2010.
Born in Glace Bay, David was the son of Billy and Ellen (Boutilier) MacKinnon.
David will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his parents; brothers, Steve (Lil), Halifax, Daniel (Brenda), Sydney, Arthur (Susie), Sydney. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who all cherished the time they spent with their kind-hearted uncle. Special thanks to uncle, Alvin Boutilier and best friend, Ronnie Mackie.
David was predeceased by his wife, Cathy (MacDonald) MacKinnon.
David's memory will be cherished in the hearts of all his family members and friends.
Visitation for David will be held Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Church, Gardiner Mines. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church hall, all are welcome.
