Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 18, 2010, Mr. Alfred Pittman of Blue Cove in his 89th year. Alfred leaves to mourn his daughter Myrtle Genge (Clyde) and brother-in-law James (Maude). He is reunited in death with his wife Susan, daughter Jane, brother Abraham (Mary Ann), sister Elizabeth (Wallace Sr.), his parents Primus and Jane Pittman, mother and father-in-law Lillian and Elgin Chambers, and brother-in-law Steve Gibbons (Myrtle). Visitation was held at The Church of the Advent in Plum Point, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20 with the Rev. Canon Hubert Vallis officiating with the assistance of Clergy Intern Paulette Bugden. Burial followed the funeral service at the cemetery on Darby's Island. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
