It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Marie Louise (Lou) Henshall, age 93, of Richmond, B.C., died peacefully in her sleep, on October 29, 2010.
She was born Marie Louise (Lou) Leclair in Rusticoville, P.E.I., June 24, 1917, (the second of 15 children) and is survived by her siblings Ferdie (Joyce), Eric (Yvonne), Lorraine, Alban, Armand (Gert) and Rosella (Rueben).
She is predeceased by her son, Garry; first husband, James Hanna; grandson, Garry; and her second husband, Samuel Henshall.
She is survived by her children: Brian (Bev), Susan, Paul (Monica), Gordon and Marc; grandchildren: Jordan (Tomoko), Sean, Jasmine, Crystal and Gillian; great-grandchildren: Hailey, Madeline and Shaunie. She will be fondly remembered, deeply missed, and forever loved and admired as a generous, kind and gentle soul.
Prayers will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 4451 Williams Road, Richmond, B.C., on Wednesday Nov. 3, 2010, at 7 p.m. followed by a funeral mass on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, one of her favourite charities.
